Local communities are a vital tool in helping archaeologists identify, understand and protect Cambridgeshire's rich archaeological heritage. Jigsaw assists local history and archaeological societies in historical research, excavation, artefact identification, recording, and much more. We provide training, equipment and professional advice. We work with societies affiliated to Jigsaw and with new Archaeology Action Groups created across the county with the help of local communities.

This five-year Heritage Lottery Funded project (2011 - 2016) is a joint venture by Oxford Archaeology East and Cambridgeshire County Council.

To affiliate your group with Jigsaw to make the most of our free resources, to create or join a new Archaeology Action Group, or to volunteer, please contact us.
