PIECE TOGETHER CAMBRIDGESHIRE'S PAST

Local communities are a vital tool in helping archaeologists identify, understand and protect Cambridgeshire's rich archaeological heritage. Jigsaw started as a five-year Heritage Lottery Funded project (2011-2016) by Oxford Archaeology East and Cambridgeshire County Council to assist local history and archaeological societies in historical research, excavation, artefact identification, recording, and much more. For more information, please see our leaflet.

Jigsaw has proved to be a great success and a template for community archaeology across the country. In Cambridgeshire, we continue to provide professional advice and support to all of the societies affiliated to Jigsaw and maintain the resources bought and developed during the project.

If you are based in Cambridgeshire or a neighbouring county, you can still affiliate your group with Jigsaw to make the most of our free resources, create or join a new Archaeology Action Group, or volunteer. For more information, please contact us.
